Amulets and Armor for the Web
Play Amulets & Armor, the 1997 fantasy role-playing game, right in your browser.
How to play
Choose from one of eleven character types, and explore a dark fantasy world from yesteryear. Check key configuration in the game or in the browser menu to get an overview of what buttons to press. Right-clicking on items in game, gives you a description of the item.
On phone/touch screen: Play in portrait mode, and select full screen! You should be able to perform most, if not all, in game actions with touch screen. Dragging items from the game screen into inventory might be a bit finicky, though. Use the eye-button to get in-game descriptions of the status of different items.
About this project
Amulets & Armor is a first-person fantasy RPG from 1997 (© United Software Artists) whose source code was later released under the GPL-3.0. This site runs that real game code, compiled to WebAssembly with Emscripten. There is no DOS emulation, and nothing to install.
Your characters and settings are saved in your browser (IndexedDB). They stay on your computer, and they are lost if you clear this site's data. Remember to export and import individual characters from the game.
This is an unofficial project. The settings let you choose a keyboard layout, and the map button in the play page toolbar adds the community quests.
The game is owned by Exiguus Entertainment, who released it for free in 2013. It is hosted here free of charge and without ads, with the blessing of the maintainer of the game's open source repository.
